Summer Favourites: Part 1!

So this post was a long time coming... I ended up missing June's Favourites post, no idea how! Therefore, I decided mid July that I would wait until the end of August so I could compile my overall Summer Favourites for a change! As this post will cover my favourite things for three months instead of one, I have split it into two parts. This part will feature my Entertainment favourites so TV, Film and General Lifestyle type things. The second part will be my Fashion and Beauty favourites. The next part will be up next week so check back if you want to see more!  A lot of my Summer Favourites in this post have been  previously featured in someway on my blog before so I have added links back to them incase you want to read more about it!

Amazon Fire Stick - (Previous Post)

This little gadget is absolutely the best thing you will ever buy. I must say though that you are not subscribed to Amazon Video you will not get the full use out of the product as it's very geared towards Amazon's facilities. However, you do get all your other apps including Netflix and such things. I LOVE the portability of this product as I can move it from room to room and it is far easier than plugging your laptop into your TV to watch Netflix on the big screen. I went on a few trips this summer so I took this with me and it was ace getting access to tonnes of entertainment in hotels! (Obviously only works if you have wifi though, I wouldn't recommend paying £5 to watch Pretty Little Liars because you have no patience...)

Funko Pop Figures

My inner geek totally fell in love with these products when I first saw them a few months back! I knew they were a thing but now that I discovered I could buy figures of characters that I actually liked now they were a must have! I have been picking them up gradually in shops and online because it definitely pays off to shop around as they can be quite expensive. These are some of my favourite ladies on television, bonus points if you can guess who they are!

Taylor Swift's 1989 Tour -(Previous Post)

In June, I incredibly lucky to see Taylor Swift live! She's an artist who I have wanted to see for a very long time so I could not believe we managed to get tickets as our date had sold out. Taylor is fantastic live and it truly was quite a spectacular production. It was VERY busy though and waiting  times were huge so we missed the start of Vance Joy's set as the queues were huge to get in.  I didn't really like this aspect as it made it a bit overwhelming but I had a blast and got really ace photos. Click the link above if you would like to see them!

Wicked Soundtrack - (Previous Post)

Back in May, I was yet again lucky enough to get very last minute tickets to see Wicked on it's UK Tour. I really loved the show and we were very fortunate to see their standby Elphaba,  Jacqueline Hughes, who was incredible.  I have been listening to the soundtrack ever since and it's super fun to sing a long (badly) to!

Out Of Orange by Cleary Wolters - (Previous Post)

If you're a fan of Orange Is The New Black, this book is definitely checking out! The hit Netflix series is based on the novel telling the real Piper's time in prison with this book's story coming from the real Alex Vause. Alex is my absolute favourite character on the show and her real life counterpart Cleary Wolters is as equally as brilliant. Cleary also shares a lot of detail about her time in the cartel which I found  fascinating and was definitely one of the highlights of this book for me.

Pretty Little Liars - (Previous Post)

Oh my god, PLL! We finally found out who A was in August! There was both ranting and raving about the revelation but I personally thought it was pretty damn good. I predicted A's identity so I was really chuffed about that. Plot holes aside, I loved the episode as it was so exciting and tense. When it comes down to it though, I just really love villains haha!

Orange Is The New Black - (Previous Post)

Throwing way back to a June favourite here with Season 3 of Orange Is The New Black! If you've visited my blog before, you will know that I'm a big fan of this show. It is fun binging the new season in 2 days until you have no episodes left and have to wait an entire year for more... I thought this season was more funny than the last and it made me appreciate characters I hadn't been too keen on before. The introduction of (some) of the new characters was good and it was great Alex being back full time. However, the lack of Nicky was incredibly disappointing and such a let down!

What We Did On Our Holiday

I had wanted to see this film for a while as I love David Tennant and Rosamund Pike is fantastic in Gone Girl so I was happy to see it appear on Netflix this summer. I couldn't recommend the film more as it was absolutely hilarious in parts but yet still had a bit of a serious undertone in the plot. The highlight of the film was definitely the three child actors as they were fantastic and had so  many good one liners.

Blue Bloods

Finally, Blue Bloods is my new favourite binge watch show! After Pretty Little Liars ended, I looked up Vanessa Ray's (Cece Drake) IMDB page to see what other projects she had been involved in and therefore came across Blue Bloods. The show is set in New York and follows the Reagan family who pretty much all work with in the NYPD. I love cop shows so I had high hopes but I'm happy to report that it is really really good! Some episodes are a bit dull but if you can take the good with the bad it is really worth checking out. The cast are great but I particularly love Vanessa's character Eddie and her partner Jamie as they bounce off each other so well and are incredibly funny.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Check back next week if you would like to see my Fashion and Beauty Favourites of the Summer. Otherwise, normal favourites post will resume in a couple of weeks for September!

Tonight is Emmys Night so I will be live blogging the Red Carpet (at least as it's on late here in the UK!) over on my Instagram (@thelittleblogofeverything) and on Twitter (@dyanlittleblog). You can also check back here tomorrow for a round up of my favourite looks! (2014 Post)

    1. Thanks Hannah! I've had such much fuss with layouts but I think I'm finally settled on this design for now anyway haha!

Oh I totally agree! I love when you watch a random film and it really surprises you. I don't think I had seen the trailer before I watched it either. I didn't know much about it really! x
